Finance — SIP, EMI, FIRE, tax — calculators that show the math.
Why this site exists
Most online financial calculators in India are wrappers around a single formula glued to a lead-capture form. Finance flips that: the math is the product. Each calculator shows you the formula it used, the assumptions it made, and the year-by-year breakdown when one exists. No sign-up, no "talk to an advisor" popups, no affiliate redirects between you and the answer.
What it covers
28 calculators across four ledgers — Investments, Loans & EMI, Banking & savings, Tax & salary. SIP, lumpsum, step-up SIP, SWP, FIRE, CAGR/XIRR, goal planner. Home, car, personal, and prepayment EMIs with full amortization. FD, RD, PPF, NPS, NSC, SSY, compound interest. Take-home pay, HRA exemption, gratuity, leave encashment, GST, income tax. Calculators get added when the math is unambiguous and the inputs are commonly asked.
What it is not
Not investment advice. Not a SEBI-registered advisor. Not a place to open an account, take a loan, or buy insurance. Outputs are mathematical projections from your inputs, nothing more — see the SEBI/IRDAI/RBI disclaimer.
Part of oriz
Finance is one of 11 static sites under oriz.in — built by Chirag Singhal, deployed to Cloudflare's edge, sharing one Firebase sign-in across the family. See the oriz hub for the full lineup, or the contact page if you spot a calculation that looks off.
Type, grid, signature
The page is a printed graph sheet — an 8px CSS grid lives behind every
view, fixed to the viewport so scrolling reads as paper sliding under
a fixed sheet. Headlines are set in Fraunces at one
size only. Body is Source Sans 3. Every numeric is
JetBrains Mono with tabular nums + slashed zero. The
two motifs that belong only to finance — leader-dotted TOC rows and
the ══ double-rule totals row — show up everywhere a
list or a sum is rendered.
